I can’t say I fully understand everything that is going on in Tibet, but the fact that journalists have been prohibited from covering the events speaks volumes. Wikileaks.org, however, has posted quite a few photos and videos documenting what has been going on. Powerful stuff.

It appears as if video games have finally broken through. Well sort of. It will not be an official event, but there will be an event centered around video gaming at the 2008 Summer Olympic Games in Beijing, China. It’s being dubbed a “Welcome Event” and is expected to be huge in China.
What is uncertain at this point is how tied to the games this event is going to be. Seeing as how it is not considered an “Exhibition Game”, this sounds like little more than a marketing event. But let’s assume it’s not. Is video gaming something that we want to see represented in the Olympics?
Don’t ask me why I am doing this. Aren’t there enough people online purporting to offer insight on just about any topic imaginable? Maybe I’m doing it because most of those people are so blindly driven by irrational devotion. You can almost always figure out what they are going to say before they even push it through their keyboard. Will this be any different? Don’t know. I do know one thing, though. I can’t think of anything I like enough to evangelize. And nothing seems important enough to take seriously. I suppose I’m a middle-of-the-road kinda guy. Like Switzerland. Or roadkill.
